The New York State Department of Transportation announced that daily between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Wednesday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 20, there will be two southbound lanes closed on the parkway in Yorktown.
According to the NYSDOT, the closures are expected to cause delays between exit 20 (Route 6) and exit 17A (Routes 202 and 35), weather permitting.
During the construction work, motorists in the area can expect delays.
The NYSDOT noted that “motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.”
